Zara Skepev is making a huge difference in the giving space and she's still in primary school. In the search for inspiring subjects for our Ripples Film Project, we were lucky to come across the story of Zara and her mum Milena. Inspired no doubt, by the work Milena does with The Australian Brain Cancer Foundation, Zara is on a mission to ensure that researchers can be great scientists and also great mothers. To this end, Zara has set up her business which creates unique handcrafted jewelery and donates all the money raised to supporting researchers returning to work. To date she has raised more than $40,000 dollars!
See a couple of images below from behind the scenes on a recent shoot with Zara and Professor Quinn at the ANU John Curtain School of Medical Research.
We look forward to learning more about Zara and the fabulous team of helpers around her as they work towards raising thousands more dollars in the coming months. You can check out Zara's webiste here: https://zandm.co.
